With John Felice heading into early retirement after 31 years of service, Ford has named a successor to its top sales and marketing position. Felice’s replacement is none other than Mark LaNeve.
LaNeve served as General Motors head of sales and marketing for five years before taking his leave after the company’s bankruptcy in 2009. LaNeve then joined Allstate Corp. where he helped create the “Mayhem” advertising campaign. After three years, he departed and took over as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Global Team Ford, Ford’s advertising agency.
At Ford, LaNeve will cover all marketing, sales, and service and dealer relations within the United States. “John has had a long and successful career as a key leader serving us around the world for more than 30 years,” said Joe Hinrichs, Ford’s president of the Americas, on John Felice’s early retirement. LaNeve is expected to change customer’s retail experience. With LaNeve taking the reins from Felice on February 1, 2015, we can expect Ford to overcome any challenges it may face in the future.

Over the past year, Lincoln Motor Company has been making some major changes and it looks like these changes are going to just keep on coming. Next year, the updated MKS is set to arrive in showrooms everywhere—and, according to the well-known music legend Neil Young, it looks like it will carry the famous Continental nameplate.
During an episode of Mad Money on CNBC, the singer divulged in front of a national audience that he will be partnering up with Lincoln, putting his Pono high-end digital music player into Lincoln models. As he talked about the system, he off-handedly mentioned that it would be featured in the Continental, which is set to launch in 2016.
While Lincoln has yet to confirm the Lincoln Continental return, they also haven’t denied it. The MKS will use the same platform as the Lincoln MKZ, but will be slightly longer with a front-wheel drive layout.

Lincoln has finally released a look at the next-generation Lincoln MKX—and it turns out, we have seen it before. The brand-new crossover from Lincoln is almost an exact duplicate of the previous MKX Concept that debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, with a few minor changes.
Similar to the previous concept car, the 2016 Lincoln MKX design has a split-wing grille across the front fascia of the vehicle, though its headlights aren’t as integrated into the grille. The production version crossover has a bit more material added to the shape of the lower air dam. It also has some more character than the concept car, with a line that adds flair to the MKX’s silhouette. The MKX even has similar twin-spoke wheels, making it easy to see the resemblance between the two vehicles.

Ford has announced that next year, Ford cars can be equipped with the new Ford SYNC 3 system. This updated system has an easier-to-use interface, more conversational voice recognition functions, and an updated graphical interface.
“Ford is delivering an easier way for customers to stay connected,” said Raj Nair, Ford chief technical officer and group vice president, Global Product Development, in a statement. “SYNC 3 is another step forward in delivering connectivity features customers most want, and they tell us this kind of technology is an important part of their decision to buy our vehicles.”
To develop this next-generation system, Ford built upon its experience with more than 10 million SYNC-equipped vehicles on the road around the world. It also used more than 22,000 customer comments and suggestions along with research clinics to design the updated system.
New features will include a seamless integration of AppLink, Siri Eyes-Free for iPhones, Wi-Fi updates, and a subscription-free 911 Assist that lets drivers make emergency calls after a significant accident.

Lincoln is upping its luxury game with their new “Black Label” experience, which was revealed earlier this month. This upgrade will provide an even more premium feel to the interiors of Lincoln vehicles, making trips all the more comfortable.
Black Label is being described as “upscale, customized vehicle interiors and membership perks,” and the movement will hit 32 Lincoln dealerships in six different states next month, for vehicles such as the new MKC crossover and the MKZ sedan.
The upgrade option – which can be purchased for about $5,995 – puts Venetian leather in your car as well as a list of exclusive colors. Once the upgrade is purchased, owners are also eligible to join the Black Label club, for car washes and detailing among other perks.
“It is the ultimate expression of what the Lincoln brand will stand for,” said group marketing manager for Lincoln, Andrew Frick in USA Today.

In order to help the less fortunate, Ford recently involved itself with a hunger relief initiative during the Thanksgiving Holiday. Though they focused on Detroit, they also donated over $1 million to help the hungry all over the US.
At Shults Ford Lincoln of Wexford, we were moved to hear about the Ford hunger relief initiative, which partnered with The Salvation Army. Ford donated a new delivery truck to the Salvation Army, which will help deliver over 5,000 meals per day in Detroit. The Ford E-350 came with a year of free gas, courtesy of Marathon.
Jim Vella, President of the Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services, said, “By addressing the issue of hunger through other programs such as Ford Mobile Food Pantries, Ford Focus on Child Hunger and Meet Up and Eat Up, we are going further to create stronger communities.”
They were able to donate over $1.3 million in hunger relief support all across the US, according to Ford. More than $40,000 of that was spent in Detroit over Thanksgiving to support the Holiday Meals on Wheels program, giving 6,000 seniors a nice meal for the holiday. It is things like this that show how Ford really cares about giving back.
