Spending time with family on a road trip is a fantastic bonding experience, but it can sometimes get boring — especially if you have kids in the car. Here are some road trip games for children that are sure to keep passengers of all ages entertained.
I’m Going on a Picnic: Help your kids exercise their brains with this memory game. The first player should begin by stating, “I’m going on a picnic and I’m bringing…” filling in the blank with something that begins with “A”. The next person then must repeat the same phrase with the “A” word and then adding a “B” word after it. Continue this until you get to the end of the alphabet.
The Animal Name Game: Begin this game by naming an animal. The next person then has to name another animal that starts with the last letter of the previous animal named. For example, if someone says “seal” then the next player has to name an animal that begins with “L”. Keep going until everyone’s stumped, and remember — you can’t repeat animals!
21 Questions: This classic game is perfect for long car rides. Begin by having a passenger think of a person, place, or thing. Then, the other passengers must ask questions to try and guess what it is. The biggest challenge, though, is that you can only ask 21 questions total. Whoever gets it right gets to begin the next round, and if the object isn’t correctly guessed, the first passenger gets to choose again.
