Many people say that fall is their favorite time of year, and we have to agree. With the cool weather, delicious food, crisp outdoor smells, and getting to wear your favorite cozy clothes, how could it not be your favorite? Here are some great ways to experience fall in Pittsburgh.
- Go apple picking. There are a number of local farms in the Pittsburgh area that let you pick your own apples. Try Simmons Farm in McMurray, Spergel Orchards in Wexford, or Half Crown Hill Orchard in McDonald.
- Visit fall festivals. There are plenty of festivals to choose from this fall. Visit Seven Springs any weekend in October for the Autumnfest or try the Pittsburgh Zombie Fest on October 7th.
- Go through a corn maze. There are a number of corn mazes near Pittsburgh. Try out the Giant Living Maze at Schramm Farms in Jeanette or a more complicated one at Shenot Farms in Wexford.
- Go running. Running for fun is something a lot of people do. Sign up for the Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K on October 15th or the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler on November 5th.
