Fallingwater Mill Run, PA – 1.5-hour drive

Even if you are not an architecture buff, you will still find Frank Lloyd Wright’s most famous project breathtaking. It’s hard to not perceive how Fallingwater, built in the 1930s, blends so well into its natural surroundings. After all, it’s built around a waterfall! Penn’s Cave Centre Hall, PA – 3-hour drive

Sailing on the underground river to take in the strange rock formations of Penn’s Cave is a truly wondrous experience. The boat trip takes about 45 minutes, during which a tour guide will explain how the stalagmites, stalactites, and draperies are formed. The cave is not far from State College, a college town where you’ll find lots of other interesting things to do.
