Old Economy Village, for example, is open from April until October, and features a number of restored buildings, traditional tradesmen, interactive exhibits, and various works of art, old books, and historical tools for your viewing pleasure
Similarly, the Depreciation Lands Museum features a replica of a 19th-century schoolhouse, a restored and authentic log cabin, and a blacksmith shop. There’s even a barn with a covered wagon and one-horse sleigh inside, and costumed guides lead visitors through the museum. The Cranberry Township Historical Society and the Mars Area History & Landmark Society also give visitors a glimpse into the past of the region.
Of course, there are other things to do besides wander around in times gone by. Facilities such as Go Ape Treetop Adventures provide outdoor recreation for the entire family, with treetop obstacles ranging from rope ladders to Tarzan swings to trapezes to five different zip lines. The adventure finishes with one final zip line that will take you down out of the trees.
If you’re still looking for excitement but Go Ape isn’t your style, Fun Fore All provides a more traditional family experience, with a facility that includes go-karting, an indoor arcade, mini golf, and kiddie rides. Parking and admission is free.
