Stern Pinball is celebrating 50 years of the Ford Mustang in its own way: by creating three modern versions of a Mustang-themed pinball game. It’s been ages since we at Shults Ford Lincoln of Wexford have even looked at a pinball machine, but we’re definitely looking forward to playing the new, all-things-Mustang game.
What makes this pinball game so much better than other special edition machines? It features the handiwork of Ford GT designer, Camilo Pardo; and as for how it operates, Stern Pinball’s executive VP for Game Design, George Gomez, said, “You’ll be collecting Mustangs; you’ll be modifying Mustangs; you’ll be racing Mustangs; you’ll be doing all the things that people do with Mustangs.”
We mentioned three versions:
The game’s first version, the pro-level, is intended for arcades and public spaces. The machine is on display at this year’s Chicago Auto Show.
The second version is the premium level. It will include additional art to attract pinball machine collectors.
The third version of the machine is the special edition. This edition is signed and highlights the 50th anniversary with artwork of the 1965 and 2015 Mustangs.
Discounting the pro-level’s price tag at just under $5,000, which version of the Mustang Pinball Game would you choose?
The Kentucky Truck Plant, which builds the F-250 through F-550 versions of Ford’s powerful Super Duty truck, just received an $80 million investment. The investment, which will help create 350 additional jobs at the factory, will mainly support a 15% increase in Super Duty production, an increase made necessary by insatiable customer demand for the popular truck.
“Customer demand for F-Series Super Duty trucks is growing substantially, and F-Series overall is America’s best-selling truck for 37 years running,” said Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of The Americas. “Building on more than 100 years of manufacturing in Kentucky, we are proud to expand our profitable growth in the region as a result of our leadership in trucks and SUVs.”
Here at Shults Ford Lincoln of Wexford, we know firsthand just how popular these Super Duty trucks are, so the increase makes perfect sense to us. Come by Shults soon and take one of these awesome trucks out for a test drive—you’ll easily see why Ford is finding it necessary to increase production on these behemoths.
Last year, Ford and Lincoln dealers gave back $89 million and 654,240 in volunteer hours to their local communities. We at Shults Ford Lincoln of Wexford are immensely proud to be part of that number, and we are excited to continue our efforts throughout this year as well.
In Ford’s Survey on Dealer Giving, 96 percent of dealerships responded saying they financially supported local causes in 2013, while 86 percent reported staff getting involved in the community in a more personal way by volunteering their time.
“The amazing results illustrate the breadth of giving from our U.S. dealers – both to local causes and nonprofits around the world,” said Edsel B. Ford II, a member of Ford’s Board of Directors and overseer of the Salute to Dealers awards program. “These dealers’ passion for making a difference in the lives of their customers and their communities is a value they pass on to their employees and future generations.”
Shults has had the privilege of supporting various community activities in the past year, including a Christmas tree sale to benefit Junior Achievement programs in schools throughout western Pennsylvania and our Junior Yee Haw visit to the Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital.
Speaking of Yee Haws, have you recorded yours lately? We’re in the middle of our Sweet $25,000 Yee Haw Contest. Don’t miss this opportunity to record a special, Shults-of-a-kind “Sweet” Yee Haw before Valentine’s Day and the chance to win $5,000. We’ll also donate $5,000 to charity.
We hope to see you soon when you record your sweet Yee Haw; and be sure to stop by and say hello when you see us around town!

When you’ve one something four years in a row, it’s usually expected that your winning streak would continue for a fifth. With 2013 retail sales up 15% year-to-date, Ford is once again expecting to keep its best-selling vehicle brand title in the U.S. for the fifth year running.
“The great news is that we are not overly reliant on any one segment—we’re seeing double-digit sales growth in cars, trucks and utilities,” said John Felice, vice president of U.S. marketing, sales and service. “The Ford brand has had more retail share growth than any other brand in the country, with our most significant gains coming from import-dominated coastal markets. With 16 launches next year, we’re looking to keep our sales momentum going.”
With the lead Ford has over Toyota widening by the second, reaching over 396,041 vehicles through November, there’s not much reason for the American carmaker to feel threatened. Ford is not only the best-selling utility brand, but Ford Escape, Explorer, and hybrid vehicles are all increasing. The all-new Ford C-Max hybrid alone is drawing almost half of its customers from foreign car brands.

Sometimes it feels as though there is no rhyme or reason behind the rise and fall of gas prices. The prices seem to always take two or three steps forward and then just one step back. But we can be sure that the days of cheap gas are long gone.
So, what do you do when the money you spend on gas is squeezing your entire budget? Here are a few simple ways to save money at the pump.
- One of the biggest impacts on fuel economy is driving style. According to Edmunds.com, calm driving, as opposed to aggressive driving with fast lane changes and hard braking, can improve your fuel efficiency by 35 percent!
- Drive less. If you have any coworkers who live near you, see if you can work out a carpool and take turns driving. Also, if your family loves to take long weekend drives, you might want to find another way to enjoy your time together.
- You can save money on gas by using sites such as Gasbuddy.com to find the cheapest price. However, don’t drive across town to save a penny. You can also see if any of your local grocery stores offer fuel savings through loyalty cards. Membership stores, like Sam’s Club, often have less expensive fuel.
If you are in the market for a new more fuel-efficient car, Ford has two 2014 models on the EPA’s list of the top 10 most fuel efficient vehicles. These include the 2014 Ford Focus Electric and the 2014 Ford Fusion Energi. Come visit us at Shults Ford Lincoln of Wexford and we’ll show you are full lineup of fuel-efficient vehicles.
There can be little doubt that two of the most iconic American brands are the Ford Motor Company and Coca-Cola. The powerhouse companies have joined forces in the name of creating exciting new products derived from renewable materials to unveil a sharp-looking Ford Fusion Energi manufactured using Coca-Cola’s PlantBottle Technology.
From the outside, this Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid is striking in a green and silver-accented paint scheme that evokes the PlantBottle logo’s color scheme. However, it’s the inside that really shines: lime green-trimmed cloth seats give the PlantBottle Fusion Energi a distinctly sporty look that makes it hard to ignore.
Particularly hard to ignore: the fact that the material used to make these seats comes from the same plastic (polyethylene terephthalate, or PET) Coca-Cola uses to make its plastic bottles. Using PlantBottle technology, engineers at Ford turned the PET into a durable, automotive-grade fiber that was woven into a fabric that is both more environmentally friendly and more durable.
“By using PlantBottle Technology in a plug-in hybrid, Ford and Coca-Cola are showing the broad potential to leverage renewable materials that help replace petroleum and other fossil fuels, reducing the overall environmental impact of future vehicles,” said John Viera, global director of sustainability and vehicle environmental matters at Ford, in the automaker’s official press release.
The 2014 Ford Fusion and Fusion Energi already incorporate a number of sustainable material innovations, including sound-absorbing denim material in the carpet liner, material equivalent to 38.9 recycled clear-plastic bottles (16 oz) in certain cloth-seat models, and 31,250 soybeans for foam used in seat cushions. Ford’s ingenuity has already led to a considerably-reduced carbon footprint while delivering the kind of requisite comfort that drivers expect from their vehicles.
